As i began my third year of Spartan Racing this year (2015) i was hit by another obstacle, my first major injury of my adult life....a broken ankle. WIthout a doubt it killed a number of my goals this year (multiple Spartan Race Trifectas, my first half-marathon) as i have had to focus on rehabbing #thatdamnankle. I was able to complete a Spartan Trifecta in 2015, now it's time to rehab it, get the ankle stronger, and attack those goals from my 2015 calendar in 2016!
every time I've run during my latest comeback, it's been very frustrating. The numbers here weren't great, but it's the first time in a long time I wasn't extremely disappointed when I was done...I guess that's progress :)
Well when I signed up for this I thought i'd be closer to being healthy...instead there have been a few steps back and I am back in the boot..
so I found a flat stretch of town and walked up and down a few blocks near the beach to reach my 3 miles.
well that wasn't my finishing time for a 5K...that was my finishing time for 10 miles! Apparently I don't do things the easy way. with 2 Spartan Beast races coming in the next two months...I need to start putting some trail/hill miles on my legs and #thatdamnankle. However, why do the 4-mile run when I can do 10?!
this was my longest non OCR race to date.
