It's now well into 2017, I suffered a setback earlier this year when the wound from my hardware removal surgery didn't heal. The boot FINALLY came off March 31st. Although this has been a 2 1/2 year ordeal with #thatdamnankle i have really only been healthy since April. The comeback trail is slow...but i am getting there...finally running more (slowly, but more importanly, egoless)...looking forward to continuing to move forward (and doing it faster!)
every time I've run during my latest comeback, it's been very frustrating. The numbers here weren't great, but it's the first time in a long time I wasn't extremely disappointed when I was done...I guess that's progress :)
Well when I signed up for this I thought i'd be closer to being healthy...instead there have been a few steps back and I am back in the boot..
so I found a flat stretch of town and walked up and down a few blocks near the beach to reach my 3 miles.
well that wasn't my finishing time for a 5K...that was my finishing time for 10 miles! Apparently I don't do things the easy way. with 2 Spartan Beast races coming in the next two months...I need to start putting some trail/hill miles on my legs and #thatdamnankle. However, why do the 4-mile run when I can do 10?!
this was my longest non OCR race to date.
